How can I get the newsletter mailed directly to me? You can subscribe to our e-mailed newsletter by sending a message to subscribe@myamc.org Be sure to put info@myamc.org into your address book so the newsletter does not go to your junk or spam file.
How should I dress? We ask that you dress appropriately and modestly as you are in the House of the Lord. Give Him your best. We also want you to be comfortable – You may find yourself participating in a variety of types of worship or you might find yourself on your knees at the altar.
Do I have to be Jewish to attend? ALL are invited and encouraged to attend. If you are Jewish, you will find a number of our procedures familiar. However, please be aware that all of our activities point toward Yeshua HaMashiach. If you would like more input about being a Jewish Believer, speak to Elder Fern.
Can I attend if I am NOT Jewish? ALL are invited and encouraged to attend. While we stress the Hebraic roots of the faith, please be aware that all of our activities point toward Jesus the Messiah. If you would like more information on being a believer who honors their Hebraic roots, please speak with Elder Jeff.
What kind of Worship will I see during your services? We worship in a style that is called Davidic Worship. We sing, play instruments, wave banners, raise hands, and occasionally shout out loud. Our children participate as well. Our music ranges from exhuberant praise songs to intense spirit filled worship songs.
Do I have to bring my own bible? We do not keep extra bibles in the sanctuary. It is highly recommended that you bring your own bible. Scripture is a major part of most of the teachings. If you do not have a bible, please let us know.
Why should I sign in the guestbook? We value the time you took to be our guest for the Service. The information you provide enables us to contact you afterward to thank you for coming and to see if you have any questions. Your e-mail address is added to our list for our newsletter. Please be assured that your contact information is not shared, sold, or otherwised distributed outside the congregation office.
Do I have to learn Hebrew? Knowledge of Hebrew is not required. While many of our terms and phrases are spoken in Hebrew, all prayers are translated and also recited in English.
What is Mishpochah? Mishpochah is the Hebrew word for family. It refers to all partners inducted into the congregation. Regular visitors are sometime included when the word refers to the community.
What is a Shamash? Shamash is the Hebrew word for servant. {Shamashim (pl)} When one of our mishpochah offers their time and commitment to a particular ministry at AMC, they have the opportunity to be appointed as a Shamash. AMC has six-month terms of service. This would (1) allow new people to have the opportunity to serve/oversee a ministry, (2) keep folks from burning out due to a permanent assignment, and (3) allow people the opportunity to move as God directs to serve in other ministries.
