We invite you to join us on Erev Shabbat November 30th when we will have a Hanukkah primer and preparations teaching – we will cover the traditions of Hanukkah, Hanukkiah lighting and placement, Hanukah foods with recipes and decoration ideas. Games for kids of all ages and some fun music videos from the Maccabeats! The recipes will come in handy because on the next Erev Shabbat, on December 7th, we will have a Hanukkah Oneg – sign up to bring your favorite Hanukkah dish to share and enjoy!
So, November 30th – will be our Hanukkah Primer and preparations teaching. The next day on Shabbat, on December 1st, I will be bringing you a teaching entitled: Gleanings for the Believer from the Maccabean Revolt & Hanukkah. Hanukkah will officially begin at Sundown December 2nd. We do not have anything scheduled so that the start of the Festival of Lights can be celebrated in your homes.
For those interested in a more in depth understanding of the Maccabean Revolt & Hanukkah, I will be teaching a two-part Series during the Adult Education class while Rabbi Allan is away in eretz Israel. Tuesday December 4th will be Part I of the Maccabean Revolt and Tuesday December 12th will be Part II of the Maccabean Revolt.
As already mentioned, the evening of December 7th we will have our Hanukkah Oneg starting at 6PM and at 7PM our Erev Shabbat Service where I will bring you a teaching entitled: Letting your Light Shine.
The next day at our Shabbat Service on December 8th, I will bring you a message entitled: It was the Feast of Dedication. . . a study from the Gospel of John Chapter 10.
The Last night of Hanukkah begins at sunset on Sunday December 9th, We invite you to bring your Hanukkiahs and candles and come celebrate with us at 6PM in the Fellowship hall as we light all our Hanukkiahs, and then join us in the Sanctuary at 7PM as we celebrate Rosh Chodesh for the month of Tevet.
